There is more than one sort of sexual abuser.... there are those out there who never do anything to HARM a child in the sense of making the child believe he was harmed...but are never the less guilty in the eyes of the law because they have violated cultural and moral norms... instead of co-ercion and threats, they use bribery and exploit natural desires all children have towards their own sexuality. I believe MJ is one of these... he can honestly believe that he has NEVER harmed a child and be very convincing about it... and most of the children would not come forward because of not realizing they had been molested... until they learn how society classifies it...and then they might not come forwards because they would no be ashamed for enjoying it, or afraid of being labelled because of it, or still have loyalties to MJ...perhaps other reasons.

Our society does not care if a child enjoys sex or not, we have determined that until a certain age, they are not capable of determining things like that for themselves... this age varies wildly from state to state. in some states it can be as low as 12, here in florida it is 16 as long as the other is under 24... which seems a bit arbitrary.

at one time 13 was considered an adult in most cultures, especially since a great many died before age 40. however, we must consider that no stable culture of any duration has ever allowed sex for the sake of pleasure to be permitted... some are pushing that way now..but it is my suspicions this will never be allowed by the majority... perhaps rightly so, the sexual revolution has been a basic failure... we need to learn to fix our emotions first... just as we need to learn to drive a car before we get behind the wheel in real traffic.... too many are sexually driving without proper instruction and causing all sorts of problems.

do any of you start humming a kingdon tune out of the blue?

i do from time to time, i love music you can take any key and there will be a kingdom song that starts with it.

that is how i learned how to play a harmonica was by remembering the tunes of jehovah's witness's.

if you want to be nasty to someone, just hum some really stupid song you know that they know and in about a minute, they will be infected and cannot stop hearing it (^_^) and will likely hum it too.... cursing you the rest of the day (^o^)

Stupid, Illogical Belief of the JWs

a jw woman died a few days ago at the age of 31. she died from ovarian cancer.

i knew her since she was a young girl.

but her death got me thinking about the jw belief/interpretation of the resurrection.

Or will as some JW's say God will take the feeling for marriage and sex away from the resurrected ones. But isn't that interfering with a persons free will.

What freewill, according to JWs we are only spirit actived, animated dirt which can be reprogrammed under the right conditions. if you have no more desire for something you will not miss it either, even if others are enjoying it. after all, if you don't like Kim Chi, you will not mind someone eating it up wind from you (^_^).

I wouldn't have thought so. Officially, you don't get df'd for what you have done, but for your attitude in respect to it and attitude to the counsel given to you about it. Even if they changed the rules, you would still have shown the 'wrong' attitude to the counsel from the wtbts and would still be df'd.

Sheep bend over and do what the shepherds direct, no matter how silly, because Sheep do not know silly.... they are among the stupidest animals on earth.... anyone who balks at "any" shepherd direction is a goat.... get rid of him.

Did a 'major-event' cause you to join/leave JW?s?

it seems to me, many people become jw?s after a major event in their lives.

perhaps it is the death of a loved-one, such as a father, mother, child, wife, or husband.

on the other hand, it?s also my observation that a "major-event" often causes an active jw to rethink what they are doing with their life, whether they are really in the "truth," as jw?s call it.

My theory is that religion works much like hypnosis... we voluntarily allow the SUGGESTION of others to lead us because we come to TRUST those who

we see as valid leaders. In 1974, I first met JWs, I had never heard of them and I did not trust them... but I read their literature and unlike the catholics who raised me, they made sense.

they answered questions instead of just telling me what to do and how to do it. I still did not trust them, because something did not seem right, but I could not tell what exactly.

I read books written by catholics and protestants against JWs and they came off like WE ARE THE CHURCH DO AS WE SAY, THEY ARE LIARS BECAUSE WE SAY SO... which made me trust JWs even more. JWs have the us/them mentality which makes people naturally huddle together against their common enemies and this seems like LOVE... but it is found in just about every minority cult you can find. Reading books on Mormon's, I found they are shockingly similar to JWs in all organizational ways and their apparent LOVE amongst themselves.

In 1985-6, I read a book called Subliminal Seduction and vowed that if I EVER caught JWs using such mind manipulations I would have to leave them... no matter how right they sounded doctrinally, I could not accept any group that used brainwashing techniques like that.... shortly after read that, I learned that some were accusing the brothers of doing just that and the "brothers" came down hard on them, threatened anyone who would make such a "false" accusation against the hard working slaves in the tower.... and I found it very difficult to tell if subliminals were being used or it was just our minds playing tricks on us when we actively looked for them.

then came 1990. after the memorial I and my then wife picked up our alotment of watchtowers and awakes, she went home to bed and I went to work. after reading one of the awakes, I was just doodling on the cover, just tracing the lines of shadow on the face of the pope [there were three religious leaders on the cover -Arch bishop of canterbury, the Pope and the Patriarch of constantenople].... suddenly the shadows spelled out an unmistakeable word -- FAKE -, clear as day, right on the pope's face. on the patriarch the word FART seemed more the case than FAKE, but I could be wrong (^_^)... but still, it seemed an obvious subliminal and it hit me---- the society had LIED to us. either they KNEW about the subliminals and covered it up, or they did not know and lied to protect themselves while they either ignored the issue or hunted down the rougues within the tower.... either way, they LIED.

its one thing to lie about things no one can check, like whether or not there is a god or a Jesus or a heaven or a hell, but when you lie about things people can check, someone will find out...eventually.... and of course this is used as a test of loyalty by the society, they don't want people who can think, they want sheep who will allow themselves to be lead.

the society does not even care to address their many contradictions and alterations of history, they figure that they dont wany anyone who figures it out anyway, they are only looking for those who take SUGGESTIONS well, those who are easily HYPNOTIZED.... I woke up.

As a JW I always pondered this heavenly hope thing, how did the so called anointed KNOW they were such? there was no report in anything of Russell's literature of an out pouring of the Holy spirit as mentioned in the bible, no flaming tongues, no doves, etc... and the explanation that the anointed JUST KNOW because the bible seems directly pointed to them sounded very suspicious.

A young girl I knew in the 80s, believed She was anointed and had to endure a lot of other witnesses accusing her of all sorts of things, but she maintained it and no one could shake her from that conviction... she died of some sort of cancer a few years later and all who knew her were convinced she really was of the anointed...

it all seems like a lot of power of suggestion when you really examine it and from time to time, some will not accept the suggestion as this girl did not...but she seems not the only one to have been so affected in that time period.... JWs were told of mass disfellowshippings of even some of the anointed....this must have triggered the subconscious of some to think that there may be some openings in the heavenly chorus.

for the majority, they obediently follow the SUGGESTION of the leadership that the cattle call had been closed since 1935 give or take a few.

after all, they are told that what makes a sheep from a goat is the sheep do not question nor challenge Jehovah's "true" servant, the faithful and descreet slave...[read WT authors]

remember folks--- shepherds are predators who FOOL sheep into a false sense of security.... they fleece and slaughter sheep for their own benefit...even in sincerety.

galatians opens with the direction to not listen to opposing religious views.

it goes so far as to say that even if they (ostensibly paul and his party) or an angel from heaven presents another opinion, they must refuse to listen even then condemning the messenger as an enemy.

ironically this very obstinance is condemned among the jews in the bible, when they supposedly refused to listen to the new direction from the christians,jesus and even the angels who according to the story announced this new faith's arrival.

Why is it that the very mind that we have been given to reason, create and learn with so easily shuts down and shuts off? I find it fascinating
that our minds seem to purposefully search out strict boundaries (i.e. religious doctrines etc.) in which to hopefully navigate life in a richer more
fulfilling way, while hopefully pleasing our "creator", "source" or whatever we are driven to please.

just an educated guess--- we are not born with any particular set view of the world and adopt what makes sense to us along the way... as dependants of our parents love, we seek to find ways to keep them happy and not angry and this just gets to be a normal feeling projected to our fantasized ultimate parent.

my jw neighbor wasn't able to come on monday after all, but we rescheduled our meeting for today (wednesday).

on monday, i had a bit of material around, and my next-door neighbor stopped in.

i found out that she was in a bible study with some jws!

you are on the right track, this is all about breaking an hypnotic spell.... there is only one way to do that, make the hypnotized lose trust in the hypnotist... all hypnosis is really voluntary abandonment of ones own thinking to the SUGGESTIONS of another one trusts....break the trust and break the spell.

WT always damns those who leave as serving to a date...not serving Jehovah with a right heart, etc.... however while that seems true on the surface it overlooks the real issue.... we was lied to! we are lead to believe that WT alone had the inside track to JHVH and as his mouth peice would have the straight scope things like this... JWs being wrong over and over again about this and other issues only shows that no such inside track ever existed and that the WT had nothing but opinion on "the truth" and no way to really show they were any better than the others out there claiming to be speaking for God and being called Liars by the WT.

One main thing that always bothered me about the whole "business" was its lack of real world verification. There were always plenty of EXCUSES why there was no actual evidence for anything supernatural going on, why FAITH was important and that real world evidence would not make any difference... yet is that not how all con artists need to work? they must baffle you with Bull$#!+ so that you do not catch on that you are giving up your value in time and money for a pie dream in the sky which you will not know you were even cheated out of if it never materializes.

Religion is the greatest con game ever invented..... I give you words and you give me money on the hope that my words lead to fulfillments later....after you die, for the most part.

Remember if you Kiss Hank's ass you will get a million dollars, but if you don't he will beat the crap out of you--Karl.

Therefore I cast off my flesh and accept that I am nothing more than dust attempting to alter the coarse of other dust on this dust filled rock we call a planet trying to prove that I'm more than dust. Eventually I will die and become dust once again so other dust can feed on the dust that sprouts from me. That is all life is.

There you are quite wrong, you are not simply dust trying to prove you are more.

you are something which gives a $#!+, which makes all the difference that needs to be made. The primary difference between us and a computer is that win or lose it does not care, it does not change much nor would it be able to notice if it did....however we FEEL pain and pleasure and contentment and KNOW that anything we believe or do can change that... we are AWARE that there are consequences to our every move. We are active players in the game, not just game tokens. and we gamble with our contentment and happiness with every move we make and know it. Each of us is unique and fit along a very complex spectrum which may find some hardly feeling anything at any time for any reason and others feeling every little things. Most people are mixed and feel some things strongly and other things hardly SEEM to matter to them.

Where most go wrong is in trying to find meaning outside themselves as if the meaning of life has any meaning apart from anyone alive finding meaning.

There is NO meaning OF life, there is ONLY meaning found by the living.
